Variable principle of axial piston variable pump

Variable Principle

The variable principle of the axial piston pump is shown in Figure 1 below. When the size of the swash plate inclination angle γ is changed, the size of the reciprocating stroke difference h of each plunger can be changed, thereby changing the output flow of the pump.

As for how the inclination angle of the swash plate is changed, it is mainly realized by controlling the swash plate by the variable mechanism shown in FIG. 2.

Form of Variable Mechanism

Here is a variable mechanism consisting of a "bias spring" and a "variable control cylinder", plus a "variable control valve" (not shown in Figure 3) mounted on the pump housing, as shown in Figure 3 below.

The inclination of the swash plate always tends to increase due to the elastic force of the "bias spring;

The oil pressure of the "variable control cylinder" makes the inclination angle of the swash plate always have a decreasing trend;

When the above two forces are balanced, the swash plate is stable at a certain angle and no longer changes, then the pump outputs a constant pressure.

In addition, the change of the flow rate is determined by the form of "variable control valve" on the pump housing, including constant pressure variable, load sensitive variable, constant power variable and so on.
